Description

Italian-Built 2D Computer Wheel Balancer with 1-Gram Accuracy

Entry-level wheel balancers slow down a busy tire bay — every wheel needs manual data entry on three dimensions, the balancer’s accuracy drifts between calibrations, and hiding adhesive weights behind spokes turns into guesswork. A high-volume passenger bay needs a balancer that does the data entry, holds accuracy, and helps the operator place weights where they actually disappear.

The Atlas Platinum PWB50 is an Italian-engineered 2D computer wheel balancer with automatic data entry, 1-gram accuracy, and a 7-second balancing cycle. FES, OPF, and Optimatch functions handle adhesive weight placement and match-mounting automatically.

What’s Included

  • Atlas Platinum PWB50 wheel balancer
  • Plastic quick-release nut
  • 4 centering cones
  • Wheel weight pliers
  • Wheel measuring calipers
  • USB hub for PC/notebook firmware updates

Made For

Built for high-volume passenger and light-truck tire bays that need Italian-grade balancer accuracy without the price tag of a 3D laser machine.

  • Independent tire shops running high passenger-car volume
  • Quick-lube and tire rotation bays
  • Dealership tire service departments
  • Performance and wheel/tire specialty shops
  • Serious home garages that swap wheels seasonally

Features

  • Italian engineering and components — PWB50 is built in Italy — the established home of high-end wheel balancer manufacturing
  • 1-gram accuracy — reads imbalance down to 1 gram — fine enough for performance and OE wheel work
  • Automatic 2D data entry — single gauge captures distance and diameter automatically — no manual three-dimension input
  • 7-second cycle time — complete balance cycle from start to readout in 7 seconds at 130 rpm
  • FES, OPF, and Optimatch functions — split adhesive weights behind spokes, reposition adhesive weight access, and optimize match-mounting
  • Self-diagnosing and self-calibrating — PWB50 keeps itself in spec — no scheduled service calls
  • Automatic pedal brake — pedal and automatic brake stop the wheel at the exact weight placement position
  • No anchor-down installation — no concrete drilling required — sits on the shop floor and balances accurately

Automatic 2D Data Entry and Weight Placement

Traditional wheel balancers ask the operator to manually enter three dimensions for every wheel: distance from balancer to wheel, rim diameter, and rim width. Three measurements every time means three opportunities to mis-key a number and balance the wheel against the wrong target. The PWB50’s single data-entry gauge captures distance and diameter automatically — drop the gauge against the rim and the balancer reads both numbers without keystrokes.

The weight placement arm doesn’t just guide the operator to a generic 12 o’clock position. The operator picks the most convenient weight location for that particular wheel, and after the spin cycle the balancer guides the operator back to the exact same position for accurate adhesive weight application. Dynamic adhesive weight placement becomes repeatable.

FES, OPF, and Optimatch Software

The Fast & Easy Split (FES) function splits a single calculated adhesive weight into two smaller weights that hide behind the wheel spokes — visually clean balancing on alloy wheels where exposed adhesive weights look unprofessional. Opposite Position Function (OPF) lets the operator move the weight application position from the standard 12 o’clock to 6 o’clock for easier reach on tall wheels.

Optimatch handles match-mounting — the routine that optimizes the position of the tire on the wheel to minimize combined imbalance. Difficult tire/wheel assemblies that won’t balance below a target threshold get rebalanced with the tire repositioned on the rim, and Optimatch tells the operator exactly which position works. The balancer also handles ALU-S and standard ALU programs for various rim profiles.

The Right Wheel Balancer for Your Shop

At 1-gram accuracy with automatic 2D data entry and a 7-second cycle time, the Platinum PWB50 hits the speed and precision a high-volume passenger and light-truck tire bay needs. Italian engineering, FES/OPF/Optimatch software, and self-calibrating electronics keep the balancer working without service-call interruptions.

Maximum tire diameter of 43 inches and rim sizes from 10 to 30 inches cover essentially every passenger car and light-truck wheel on the road. The plastic quick-release nut, 4 centering cones, wheel weight pliers, and measuring calipers ship with the balancer — operational the day it’s plugged in. 110V power supply runs on standard shop circuits.
