Why the Pedal Matters

A motorcycle on a jack is balanced, not supported. Every stroke of a hand-pumped jack is a moment where one hand leaves the bike, and every one of those moments is when a machine decides to lean.

Pumping with a foot changes that entirely. The rider keeps both hands on the frame or the bars for the whole lift and can correct the balance continuously rather than between strokes.

On a quad the same thing applies for a different reason — the machine is heavy and the ground under it is rarely level, so being able to hold it while it comes up is worth more than the speed of the lift.

Low Enough to Get Under

A jack that will not fit under the machine is no use however much it lifts. At 4-7/8 inches collapsed, this one slides under a low cruiser frame or a quad’s skid plate without anything having to be raised first.

From there it reaches 16 inches, which clears a wheel completely and gives room to work on brakes, chain or suspension.
